It is our solemn duty to confront this injustice head-on and demand swift and decisive measures to rectify this despicable injustice.

Scott J. Roberts is facing groundless allegations from two individuals who have **NEVER** received pelvic floor therapy from him. Not a single patient who has undergone pelvic floor therapy under his care has ever raised a concern, highlighting his professionalism and expertise. These shocking facts alone raise serious doubts about the validity of the accusations and should have sufficed to absolve him from these unjust attacks.

The BOPT and VDHP's actions represent a reprehensible abuse of authority, distorting and sexualizing pelvic floor therapy – a vital and legitimate treatment method – as well as basic assessment techniques, morphing essential practices into tools of discrimination. By vilifying gait assessment as voyeuristic and promoting an agenda seemingly motivated by eliminating local competition, they have not only stigmatized essential techniques taught in accredited courses and institutions but have unfairly singled out this male therapist for utilizing practices widely accepted in the field. Together, we must resist such discriminatory behaviors that tarnish our profession and erode the trust between caregivers and patients.

In an outrageous display of sexism and double standards, Scott Roberts has been unjustly singled out by the BOPT and VDHP, exhibiting blatant gender bias by condemning practices common in pelvic floor therapy and taught in professional courses. This includes labeling the use of one or two fingers, dilators, and weights as "invasive" solely in the context of this male practitioner, despite these methods being routinely instructed and practiced by female therapists without issue, glaringly highlighting a gender bias. These actions not only ignore established therapeutic norms but also establish a dangerous precedent prioritizing gender over professionalism in healthcare. We must refuse to let discrimination dictate the quality of care provided to those in need.

In a twisted attempt to discredit this dedicated therapist, the BOPT and VDHP have shamefully criticized his use of commonly endorsed therapeutic positions like standing, quadruped, and hip flexion to target the deep pelvic floor muscles, despite these techniques aligning wit standard guidelines taught in accredited continuing education courses. This glaringly biased attack on fundamental practices not only reveals the prejudiced nature of their actions but also emphasizes the discriminatory basis of these allegations, endangering the care received by vulnerable patients.

 

**Upholding Ethics – Ridiculing Therapeutic Environments**

 

The behavior exhibited by the BOPT and VDHP during the hearings was utterly disgraceful. In another act of indignity, the BOPT and VDHP have scoffed at Scott’s treatment rooms for offering amenities like soothing music, sound machines, adjustable lighting, and heated pads which align with RECOMMENDED STANDARDS for enhancing patient comfort and relaxation as laid out by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Section on Pelvic Health’s website. Their baseless ridicule of a therapeutic environment designed to promote patient well-being is not merely disrespectful but dehumanizing.

Furthermore, Assistant Attorney General James Rutkowski was observed dozing off and cheerfully fist-pumping, showcasing a callous indifference towards the seriousness of the situation and the practitioner’s livelihood that they were jeopardizing.

The Board of Nursing's outrageous decision to evaluate a physical therapy patient and treatment subjecting it to the standards and scrutiny typically reserved for massage therapy practices in an informal hearing is an egregious overreach. This deliberate confusion and misrepresentation are transparent attempts to malign Scott’s professional integrity, highlighting the entrenched discrimination within these regulatory bodies.
