Demand Justice for Dog Found Tied in Trash Bag in Henderson, NV
The Issue
A dog was found tied up inside a trash bag in the Inspirada neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada—and despite being rushed to an animal hospital, it did not survive.
Someone did this. And they left this small dog to suffer and die just steps away from homes and families.
This wasn’t an accident. This was a deliberate act of cruelty, and under Nevada’s new Reba’s Law, it’s a felony. Reba’s Law was passed to ensure serious consequences for exactly this kind of case: willful and malicious cruelty that leads to an animal’s death. It allows for up to six years in prison. But laws mean nothing without enforcement.
We, the concerned residents of Nevada and animal lovers everywhere, are calling on the Henderson Police Department and Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson to fully investigate and prosecute the person responsible to the fullest extent allowed under Reba’s Law. No community should tolerate this kind of cruelty, and no animal should be treated like garbage.
We’re also asking the City of Henderson and Clark County Animal Protection Services to increase community awareness about how to report cruelty, and to ensure Reba’s Law is widely understood and applied when cases like this arise. We stand behind local advocates who fought for stronger penalties, and now we need to see them used.
To the person who did this: you might have thought no one would care. But you’re wrong. Thousands of us do.
To the officials responsible for pursuing this case: show us that animal lives matter. Show us that cruelty will not be tolerated. Use Reba’s Law.
Please sign this petition to demand justice for the dog who was found tied inside a trash bag in Henderson. And let this be the last time we read a story like this.
