Justice for Daisy Tamez

We Urge the Elko County District Attorney to Seek the Maximum Penalty Allowed by Law

Daisy Tamez was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life was taken far too soon. According to the criminal complaint, the defendant has been charged with open murder, including first-degree murder and all lesser included offenses, as well as three felony counts of child abuse or neglect related to Daisy’s children.

This tragedy has forever changed the lives of Daisy’s three children, who, were present during the assault that ultimately claimed their mother’s life. No child should ever have to endure such unimaginable trauma.

We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon the Elko County District Attorney’s Office to pursue this case with the full weight of the law and to seek the maximum penalty authorized by Nevada law, including the death penalty if the evidence, the law, and any applicable aggravating circumstances support pursuing that sentence.

This petition is not intended to interfere with the judicial process or deny anyone due process. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. Rather, this petition is a unified voice from the community asking prosecutors to fully consider the most serious punishment available under Nevada law. 

Daisy deserved to live.

Her children deserved to grow up with their mother.

Her family deserves justice.

We ask everyone who believes in accountability, justice for victims, and protecting children from unimaginable violence to sign this petition and stand with Daisy’s family.
