This petition is from the bottom of my heart and deeply personal and I seek freedom. From birth, my sister and I were sexually exposed, violated, and recorded by our own father. We were forced to witness the unthinkable - children and adults in sexual situations. Our father threatened to kill our mother if we didn't comply or remain silent about the abuse. This monstrous behavior happened every day before and after school for years. We lived in constant fear of this man who controlled every aspect of our lives. We were young, we did not understand what was happening; we assumed it was normal. My father hit my leg and I was in a moon boot for 4 years. At 12 years old, society allows us to make decisions about our sexual preferences and medical conditions yet at 13 years old when I disclosed the abuse to ten people working on our case, yet my right to freedom of speech, I found myself denied justice by the very system that should have protected me. This is a  violation of my human rights and freedom of  Opinion and expression. I know my rights, which are Article 34 (Protection from Sexual Exploitation) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child. What is the purpose of these rights when they are used against victims like me? Why am I being held hostage by a system that should be helping me? Why am I not being helped, why am I being forced to see someone I don't want to. We demand that the justice system listen to us and stop telling us that we are lying. Children must never be forced back into abusive environments due to legal loopholes or manipulations.
