Demand justice for Beautyful, an autistic child abused by her teacher

The Issue

Beautyful, a 5-year-old with Autism, has been a victim of a shocking act of violence at the hands of her preschool teacher, Eunice Emily Aguilar, at Destiny Development Center. This teacher took off her shoe and struck Beautyful in the head, an outrageous act that qualifies as child abuse – especially reprehensible against a child with special needs.

Children with disabilities require our care and protection. They are often unable to communicate abuse to parents and caregivers, making it vital for us to be their voice and shield. Each year, thousands of special needs children face similar mistreatment, and it's our responsibility to ensure these vulnerable individuals are protected and those who harm them are held accountable.

The family of Beautyful, backed by the Lennox community, demands the immediate arrest of Ms. Aguilar by the Lennox Sheriff’s Department. We also want her criminally prosecuted alibf with the 2 staff members in the classroom who just watched the abuse of Beautyful  and just laughed. They are mandated reporters of child abuse. Ignoring this situation sets a dangerous precedent, putting other children at risk of similar abuse.

Statistics show that children with special needs are three times more likely to be victims of abuse than their non-disabled peers. This is a stark reminder of the vulnerability these children face and the systemic issues within our educational and caregiving institutions that allow such incidents to occur unchecked.

We implore the Lennox Sheriff’s Department to act swiftly and decisively. By holding Ms. Aguilar accountable, a clear message will be sent that child abuse, especially involving our most defenseless children, will not be tolerated.

We must unite to create a safer environment for all children. Protecting them today secures their tomorrow. Please sign this petition to bring justice for Beautyful and to prevent future abuses.
