My heart is shattered as my only child, my precious son, lies on life support following a tragic accident in our quiet residential neighborhood. This nightmare began when my son was struck by a car while riding his scooter, an experience no parent should ever have to endure. Yet, amidst our sorrow and the urgent need for healing, my son's father is now being unjustly accused of neglect and child abuse.

It's outrageous and unfair that my son’s father is facing these serious accusations simply because our son wasn’t wearing a helmet at that moment. On top of that, a vape weed pen was found, leading to allegations of drug use. Meanwhile, the driver who struck him, who should be held accountable for her actions, remains free.

This was a residential area where the expectation is safety and vigilance from drivers. Instead, the driver wasn’t paying attention, and I strongly suspect speeding played a significant role in this horrendous incident. It is unjust for the blame to fall solely on my son's father when the driver’s negligence must be addressed.

The justice system must recognize the full scope of this tragedy rather than simplifying it to unfounded accusations of neglect. Both my son and his father are victims of this accident; they deserve understanding, compassion, and above all, justice.
