Demand Justice and Fair Trial in Greenwood, SC for Brandon jones
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are calling for immediate action in the case of Brandon Lee Jones, who has been held in the Greenwood County Detention Center for nearly three years without trial and, according to public records, without a true bill of indictment The Constitution guarantees every person the right to due process, a speedy trial, and fair legal representation. Those rights appear to have been ignored in Brandon’s case. This petition is not about determining guilt or innocence. It is about demanding that the justice system follow the law and provide basic constitutional protections.Brandon Lee Jones was arrested in December 2023 and remains jailed with no bond.Public court records list his indictment number as “0000GS24,” indicating no true bill returned by a grand jury.Evidence in the case is disputed, including missing body-camera footage and conflicting police reports about where key evidence was found.A co-defendant has provided written statements claiming ownership of the alleged drugs.Despite these issues, Brandon is being pressured to accept an 18-year plea deal rather than receiving a court hearing on these constitutional violations.
We respectfully demand that:
The Greenwood County Court immediately schedule a bond and status hearing.
The State clarify whether Brandon has been properly indicted and, if not, explain the continued detention.
All body-camera footage and evidence be preserved and produced.
Brandon be afforded effective legal representation that actively challenges these violations.
An independent review be conducted into potential misconduct by law enforcement and delays by the prosecution.
We ask judges, prosecutors, defense leadership, and elected officials to review this case and ensure that Brandon Lee Jones receives the due process guaranteed under the U.S. and South Carolina Constitutions. No one should sit in jail for years without indictment, trial, or meaningful review.By signing this petition, we stand for fairness, accountability, and the constitutional rights of every citizen.
