Demand justice and accountability at Timberline High School

The Issue

An incident at Timberline High School shattered the peace of many students and families within our community. Members of the football team in a Snap group chat entitled “Gameday lunch” called for a female student to be raped and killed. This incident is not just about a single event but highlights a pattern of behavior that needs immediate attention and resolution. Ideas about the “manosphere” and toxic masculinity have become more popular among younger audiences thanks to large audiences online.

For Reilly, and all those who have experienced similar situations, justice must be served. The individuals responsible—Cannon Searl, Hayden Hills, Lucas Thompson, and Owen Froehlich—should face immediate consequences for their actions. This petition calls for their removal from the football team and their expulsion from Timberline High School. The administration must recognize the severity of these actions and respond with appropriate disciplinary measures to ensure safety and respect within the school environment. This includes providing appropriate sensitivity training and education for any football player who liked the message. So far, the administration has failed to properly respond, only suspending one student for one football game.

The need for accountability goes beyond those directly involved in the incident. It is imperative that the school administration implements proactive policies to prevent such occurrences in the future. This includes introducing comprehensive education on respectful behavior and consent, as well as a platform for students to safely report incidents without fear.

We urge the Timberline High School administration to take immediate and decisive action. By doing so, they will not only provide justice for Reilly and others affected but also set a precedent that abusive behaviors will not be tolerated. Let us come together as a community to demand change and create a safer, more inclusive environment for our students.

Please join us in this vital fight for justice and sign this petition to hold individuals accountable and foster a positive school culture. Your voice can drive the change needed at Timberline High School.

Additionally, to make our voices heard consider boycotting the Homecoming Game this Thursday until action has taken place.
