I am a resident of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY, USA. My peace and tranquility are constantly disrupted by a new bar named Juneshine that essentially aims to bring the California vibes to NYC (I saw this in an interview with the owner, I’m not making this up).

While this in and of itself is problematic since there is absolutely no need to do this because NYC is already the best city in the world, let us not distract from the focus of this petition: the sonic pollution from this bar has become unbearable and must be stopped. The music played is egregious Kygo-esque remix shit and is played at a volume / during times that are simply unreasonable. 

NYC is a city that never sleeps and I, like any good tax paying New Yorker, understand and cherish a good night with friends that inevitably turns into day. However, as I previously noted in so many words, Juneshine is simply NOT IT.  

According to New York City's Noise Code (Local Law 113 of 2005), it is illegal for any commercial establishment to emit noise that exceeds certain decibel levels during specific times. Juneshine often blatantly seems to have zero knowledge of this, most notably and recently violating this law on Sunday (the day of our Lord and also a day of REST), blasting their terrible curation of “songs” until 2AM. 

Juneshine's disregard for this law not only disrupts our lives but also violates our rights as residents of this city. We demand that Juneshine respects the peace and quiet of our neighborhood by adhering strictly to NYC's Noise Code.

We additionally believe in maintaining Williamsburg’s unique character while ensuring it remains a place where all residents can live without unnecessary disturbances. Let us reclaim our neighborhood from disruptive establishments like Juneshine.
