Living in Pickens County, SC, I strive to provide a safe environment for my child. Unfortunately, this endeavor has become increasingly challenging due to corrupt individuals and unchecked criminal activity infiltrating our community's governance. The Sheriff's office, instead of safeguarding our community, allegedly turns a blind eye to this chaos, jeopardizing the safety and integrity of our beloved county.

In a disturbing turn of events, known repeat offenders and former corrupt officers, such as Chatel Hicks and Jon Norton, are reportedly operating alongside career criminals like Porsha Welborn and Mallory Barnes. These individuals, fresh out of prison and allegedly fueled by drugs, seem to be manipulating our governmental systems for personal gain. This situation not only undermines our law enforcement but also places our community at significant risk.

They are reportedly lying to access grants meant for the community's welfare, purchasing new cars, acquiring housing, and siphoning funds under the status of misrepresented facts. Even more concerning is the claim that they have our local precincts bribed for protection, an audacious act that cripples the justice we so desperately need. This pattern of behavior resembles a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) fraud scheme, and it is tarnishing the reputation and safety of Pickens County.

This petition is not a mere outcry; it is a demand for action—urgent and decisive action. We demand a thorough investigation into these claims to determine the validity of these allegations. An independent body must probe the operations of the Sheriff's office, along with a comprehensive audit of any grants accessed under dubious claims. Moreover, we urge the state and federal authorities to step in and ensure that those exploiting our systems face due justice.
