My husband has endured some of the worst abuses one could imagine in Wasco State Prison. Despite being handcuffed, he was beaten by the police, threatened by both inmates and law enforcement officials - all this while maintaining his innocence. His life behind bars has been filled with endless episodes of trauma for four long years. What makes this situation even more unbearable is the fact that he was framed by those who are still roaming free. In the United States, about 10,000 people could be wrongfully convicted of serious crimes each year according to a study by Ohio State University. A portion of these wrongfully convicted individuals find themselves subjected to the most inhuman prison conditions that are against their basic human rights. This has to stop - not just for my husband, but for all those innocent men and women suffering in silence. We want to stand up against this gross injustice. Together, we can seek an investigation into these atrocities happening in Wasco State Prison, push for a fair trial to ensure that my husband's pleas of innocence are heard, and demand that those responsible for framing him are brought to justice. Sign this petition today, to demand justice for innocent lives ruined behind bars.
