I am an employee at the Amazon facility CMH5 in Columbus, OH. Recently, we experienced a terrifying shooting incident that has left many of us feeling unsafe and vulnerable. This is not just about one incident; it's about a consistent disregard for our safety and well-being in favor of profits.

Amazon is one of the largest companies globally, with a net income of $21.33 billion in 2020 (Statista). Despite these vast resources, employees like myself are left to question whether adequate measures are being taken to ensure our safety on the job.

In 2019 alone, there were over 400 serious incidents reported across various Amazon facilities (The Atlantic), indicating that this is not an isolated problem but part of a broader pattern. We deserve better than this.

We call upon Amazon to prioritize its employees' safety over profit margins by implementing comprehensive security measures at all its facilities, starting with CMH5. We demand immediate action to prevent further incidents and protect workers like myself who contribute significantly to the company's success.
