I write from a place of deep concern and pain. Every news report, every image coming from Gaza, carries the echoes of lives lost and families torn apart. The residents of Gaza, men, women and children alike, are facing dire circumstances. Battle has replaced the sound of life, with the regrettable loss of civilian lives soaring into thousands.

Gaza, once a thriving place with vibrant communities, is continuing to endure destructive blows. Yet, our world largely remains a silent spectator. As per a UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) report, over 2,800 Palestinians, among them children, have been killed in the last decade. The true cost of the ongoing conflict, however, extends beyond this grim figure, as entire families, generations, are being ripped apart.

We cannot, and must not, just watch on anymore. Collectively, we need to rise above political biases and geographical boundaries, and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace and humanity. Politics comes and goes, but human lives once lost can never be reclaimed.

This petition is an urgent call to international organisations, governments, and to the broader international community. The objective is simple and clear: Demand immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The silence of our leaders is the approval of this violence. Let us come together and assert our demand for peace.
