Demand Harvard to Take Action Against Anti-Semitic Imagery

Demand Harvard to Take Action Against Anti-Semitic Imagery
The Issue
Are you deeply disturbed by the recent events at Harvard University? The Harvard Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine, along with two student groups, recently reposted a cartoon that can only be described as JEW HATRED. This cartoon depicts a hand with a dollar sign inside a Star of David holding nooses around figures representing the third world liberation movement. This is not just offensive; it's an attack on the identity and heritage of the Jewish people.
The land of Israel is the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people, dating back thousands of years before Islam even existed. Jews are not colonizers, there have always been Jewish people in the land, even after it was colonized by others and the majorty were forced out. Some always stayed, but many have returned to their historical home. Israel stands as the only democracy in its region, providing full rights to all its citizens regardless of their religion or ethnicity or gender.
On October 7th, Hamas launched an attack that resulted in murder, rape, torture, beheading of families and young peopel at a Peace Music Festival and they kidnapped individuals, with over 130 still being held by Hamas.
These are acts we should be condemning instead of promoting hateful imagery against Jews who are defending themselves.
Harvard University used to be been seen as an institution that promoted diversity and inclusion; this incident, along with many others that preceded it, contradicts those values entirely. We urge Harvard to take immediate action against such displays of hate speech within its community and ensure that it remains a safe space for students from all backgrounds.
This continues to happen at Harvard, then they apologize, there are no consequences and it continues to happen. ENOUGH ! There must be consequences.
We demand systemic changes at Harvard, such as:
A mandatory class for students, faculty and staff on the history of the land of Israel. FACTUALLY based ! NOT taught by a JEW HATER.
A change of terms - antisemitism and too antiseptic and does not spell out the ugly truth - call it what it is - JEW HATRED.
Mandatory anti-bias training: Equip faculty, staff, and students with skills to identify and combat JEW HATRED, including implicit bias and microaggressions.
Stronger reporting mechanisms: Make it easier and safer for students to report JEW HATRED incidents with clear avenues for investigation and accountability.
Open forums and dialogue: Facilitate constructive discussions about JEW HATRED and its impact on the campus community.
Individual accountability: Consequences for individuals who engage in JEW HATRED behavior, aligning with university policies and existing legal frameworks. FIRE faculty and staff who teach or preach lies. EXPELL students who harass or assault Jewish students.
We support inclusivity and solidarity and support for and solidarity with Jewish students and all communities facing discrimination. Harvard should be an inclusive campus environment that respects diverse identities and backgrounds.
Please sign this petition if you believe in standing up against JEW HATRED and promoting unity within our educational institutions.
