Football must be governed by fair, transparent, and independent rules that apply equally to every team and every player.

The decision to suspend the automatic one-match ban imposed on U.S. player Folarin Balogun after his red card, following the intervention of the President of the United States, has seriously damaged confidence in FIFA’s independence and the integrity of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The President of the United States has proudly admitted he has called the President of FIFA in favour of the american tream.

Regardless of whether the original red card was correct or incorrect, no political leader should be able to influence disciplinary decisions during an ongoing international tournament. Football must remain independent from political pressure, and it is the very fundamental duty of its leaders to safeguard that independence.

We therefore call on FIFA President Gianni Infantino to resign and to allow the organization to restore public trust through independent leadership and transparent governance.
The integrity of football is more important than any individual.

It is imperative that we restore faith in FIFA as an institution that promotes fair play and transparency.
