We assert our concern over the current state of the English national football team under the management of Gareth Southgate. Since Southgate's appointment in 2016, the team has faced highs and lows; however, critics argue that his tactical decisions and team selections have repeatedly fallen short of expectations. In particular, the last two major tournaments under his leadership (UEFA Euro 2020 and the FIFA 2018 World Cup) ended in heartbreak, despite the team possessing significant talent and caliber (as stated by the Football Association). We believe that effective leadership is crucial in tapping into a team's potential and seizing victories. Gareth Southgate, with his current approach, might not be the solution for a future successful England team. To bring about necessary change and to aim for higher achievements, we urge the Football Association to reconsider Gareth Southgate's role as England's football manager.
