Demand Full Disclosure of Apeel, Invisapeel, Organipeel, and Edipeel Use in Food Products

The Issue

As a parent who prioritizes organic food for my children, I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency with our food supply. My son's eczema is significantly affected by his diet; pure foods free from pesticides and other chemicals are essential to managing his condition. However, I am increasingly worried about the use of substances like Apeel, Organipeel, Invisapeel, or Edipeel on our foods - substances that cannot be washed off and whose long-term effects are unknown.

These new sciences involve the use of mono- and diglycerides, found in most processed foods, which can contain residues of arsenic, lead, soy, and mercury among others from their production process. Mono- and diglycerides are heavily processed, chemically-laced seed oil byproducts that contain trans fats, which are known to promote inflammation throughout the body and are linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and infertility issues among others. Furthermore, mono- and diglycerides convert to triglycerides in the bloodstream, which is linked to the hardening of arteries. Monoglycerides have also been deemed as “toxic elements” by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Whether a product contains any of these sciences should be readily available to consumers at grocery stores. We should not have to guess if these substances are being applied to our food. Suppliers and retailers should be forthcoming!

We demand full transparency from all stores and suppliers regarding whether they're using Apeel, Organipeel, Invisapeel, or Edipeel on their foods. We have a right to know what is on and in our food - this information should be readily available and easy to access when we grocery shop.

Please sign this petition if you believe that everyone has a right to know exactly what they're eating – let's fight for transparency in our food system!
