Demand free power supply for Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital, Andhra Pradesh.

Recently through print and electronic media we have come to know that the State Government of Andhra Pradesh has directed the Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board to withdraw the discounted tariff on power supply it offered to the Sri Sthya Sai Super Speciality Hospital, Prashantigram and other philanthropic Institutes set up by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and presently run by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. It has also slapped a charge of Rs. 3.5 crores retrospectively as uncollected arrears on power supply from these institutes from January 2009 onwards.
Having seen the humongous humanitarian activities initiated and carried on by Baba over the last so many decades, which have benefited millions of the poorest people irrespective of caste and community, we the concerned citizens of India as well as overseas countries, consider this move to be grossly unfair not only to the trust but to the millions of poorest people whom it serves. It is our humble request that the State Government should in fact make it possible to provide free power to the philanthropic Institutes run by the Sathya Sai Central Trust and continue to provide all possible help to the good work carried on by the Trust.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has been a beacon of light and hope to millions of people all over the world. His message was universal and His appeal was phenomenal. It is incumbent on all of us to carry on His legacy of “Love All Serve All”. We would earnestly urge the government of Andhra Pradesh as well as the Government of India to take appropriate steps so that His works carry on unhindered.
