The Issue

Mental health is an invisible battle many of us are fighting, especially those who work full or part-time. Unfortunately, many people suffering from this battle are burdened with costly prescriptions such as sertraline, an antidepressant, which can cost £9.90 per month. This is an added financial hardship, compounding the mental health crisis many are facing. According to the Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year, which exemplifies the magnitude of this issue [source: Mental Health Foundation]. This situation is especially dire for those who are struggling financially and cannot afford mental health medication. We demand that the government, health agencies, and stakeholders involved provide free mental health medications to full or part-time workers in mental health crises. This is not only a compassionate approach, but it is also a strategic investment in a healthy, productive workforce. Please sign this petition to alleviate an additional stressor for those battling mental health issues and to champion the importance of mental wellbeing for all.
