The Issue

In April 2021, I purchased a 2019 Focus Active State with a 1.0 litre automatic ecoboost engine. By October of the following year, issues began to surface and by January 2023, at only 15,000 miles, my vehicle was no longer drivable and required a new engine at an exorbitant cost of £4600 - just thirty-one days out of warranty. Ford offered no assistance or compensation.

Fast forward to December the same year; transmission failure occurred at merely 22,000 miles rendering the car undrivable once again.

Ford US has recalled certain models with this engine but not all. In the UK? None whatsoever.

This is not an isolated incident but rather part of a larger pattern affecting many owners across the UK who are left without recourse when their vehicles fail prematurely due to what appears to be inherent design flaws in these engines.

It's time for Ford UK to take responsibility for these faulty engines that have been causing distress and financial burden on hardworking individuals like myself who trusted in their brand name and quality assurance promises.

We demand that Ford UK initiate recalls for any make or model equipped with a 1.0 litre ecoboost engine - manual or automatic - particularly those where recalls have been published in other countries such as the US but not yet in our own country.

Join us as we call upon Ford UK for transparency, accountability and fair treatment of its customers by signing this petition today!
