I was recently under the impression that The Bureau Of Indian Affairs did exactly what their web site states.

"Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life,  promote economic opportunities & carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us to protect and improve the trust assets of American Indians. 

We do this by directly empowering tribal governments through self governance."

But what authority do we have to turn to if our tribal leaders are self-serving? 

Who do we have to turn to if everyone on counsel benefits from the broken systems? And a dead-end is reached once tribal counsel doesn't deem circumstances important enough... to them.  

Who do we have to turn to if ICWA is operating in ways that further the generational traumas in families?

Who can we the people turn to if leaders are selling your lands, behind ur backs to logging and mining companies?? 

Who do we turn to if our own tribal laws are not being followed or enforced on our reservations due to the benefit if certain families? We can all say nepotism runs rampant on reservations.

Apparently we do not currently have anyone. We do not have anyone that's gonna come save us.  The bureau of Indian affairs, Only handles the financial component between the federal government and sovereign tribes.  Which makes the start of their mission statement to "enhance the quality of life" a false promise.  

I was told by someone at The Bureau of Indian Affairs that we cant be sovereign and have officers enforcing tribal laws.  "That's not how it works"

But this way isn't working either.

I've read countless testimonies to know my opinion cant be swayed otherwise. I know too much. And I can see just as much as the next person that this system we are in now doesn't work. 

We should have a tribal operations unit that does investigate Tribes and make certain that the tribes are being ran under the 7 Teachings. That Tribes are being honorable. 

I am making this petition in hopes with enough signatures someone from congress will see the vision, and want to help.  

We have Rights.  We All come from Warrior Bloodline. Why shouldn't we Band together for change,  when these systems have proven time and time again to not work. It's Our duty to step up for the generations behind us.
