As a concerned Floridian, I am raising this petition because the negligence displayed by our elected official, Florida House Speaker Daniel Perez, is not only crippling our state, but endangering our communities. His actions have resulted in unfavorable circumstances for the people he was designated to represent.

Law enforcement, designed to protect us, are now more stretched than ever due to Perez's decision to defund their operations. No ballistic armor, no new patrol cars, no raises for officers - his policies are not protecting our families but leaving us more vulnerable. Our troopers, 84 of them along with 73 dispatchers, have been cut off.

Perez portrays himself as a conservative politician. But does a conservative toss aside law enforcement? His decisions do not “Back the Blue”; rather, he has shown an inclination to abandon them.

Moreover, Perez's allegiance seems to be manipulated by other interests. Bought and paid for by Florida's trial lawyer lobby, Perez appears to be sitting pretty in the pocket of Morgan & Morgan. He is governing for special interests, instead of us - the very people who put him in power.

And what about his stance on taxes? Perez talks about tax relief, but while he toys with the sales tax, he maintains high property taxes, punishing working families and seniors struggling to stay in their homes. He doesn’t listen to us, he is guided by Morgan & Morgan.

This isn't just about politics anymore. This is about the future of every single person residing in Florida. Speaker Daniel Perez has failed us; hence, we demand his immediate resignation.
