Yet, it pains to watch the focus being shifted unfairly, only to favor a situation where one player, Lionel Messi, is seemingly pre-chosen for glory. If Argentina is meant to triumph regardless of fair competition, what becomes of the spirit of the World Cup?

What's more troubling is the unjust treatment we faced off the pitch. In the stadium, Egyptians faced disdainful actions, with Argentinians seen pouring alcohol on Egyptian supporters. This not only underminees mutual respect, but also blatantly disregards Islamic values, where alcohol is Haram. Post-game, the discrimination didn’t end there. Egyptians were subjected to intense scrutiny, searched thoroughly, while Argentinians faced no such actions.

Looking towards the 2026 World Cup, it's clear these recent events foreshadow an unwelcome repetition of bias. If this continues, the integrity of international football will deteriorate further, pushing countless fans away and tarnishing the spirit of what the World Cup stands for: fair play, unity, and respect.
