Demand Fair Treatment and Accommodation for Autistic Children in Schools
The Issue
My son, an autistic child, has suffered neglect and various forms of abuse for three years of his school life. He has been forced to conform as a normal child, with no consideration given to his unique needs. Restaints dragged when attending to my son at his school he was in a heap crying begging for someone to help wishing he could be unborn that is just a small fraction of his story the rest is just unbeliveble, from turning a blind eye to bullying, Despite my relentless pleas to services for help over these years, there has been no change. Contacting local authorities and MPs only worsened the situation. The proposed solution was not to place my child in a school equipped to cater for autistic children but rather in a school that is miles away from home children that other schools do not want, he is not a failure
This personal experience is not isolated; it mirrors the struggles faced by many parents of autistic and children across our nation who are battling against discrimination and unfair treatment within our education system. Autistic students often face labeling, blaming, punishment, and even abuse for behaviors they cannot control or choose (Autism Society). Local authorities frequently ignore these issues despite desperate pleas from parents.i want to make a difference not just for my child but for all children who also face trauma becouse the system is broken parents out there we need to be heard we need to make a stand for our children's future for all the children
It's time we demand justice for these disabled children who deserve fair treatment and appropriate accommodations in schools just like any other student. They should be educated in environments that understand their needs instead of being punished or neglected due to ignorance or lack of resources. Parents have the right to speak for there children and should not be hushed ignored, and made to feel despair, nor feel like they are doing wrong for reporting such things, and reaching out I want to make a difference for all parents and children who are struggling and faceing similar situations I want to make a huge difference so our children can access a education system that caters for them without causeing trauma, parents will be heard helped supported , respected while addressing issues and understanding of there child, all children with SENDs desreve this
We urge you all - educators, policy makers, parents - everyone who believes every child deserves equal opportunities regardless of their abilities - to sign this petition demanding fair treatment and accommodation for autistic students in our schools nationwide.
