Demand Fair Pricing for Video Games and In-game Credits from Gaming Studios

Demand Fair Pricing for Video Games and In-game Credits from Gaming Studios
The Issue
Like many others, I am a passionate gamer who enjoys engaging experiences in virtual worlds. However, the high prices set by major game studios like Xbox, Steam, and Amazon for both games and in-game credits are a source of continual frustration. This practice, which I see as profiteering, goes as far as listing Shark Cards Megalodon at $99.99 and 10,000 Halo Credits + 500 Bonus for an exorbitant $89.99.
Adding to the burden, platform stores such as the Xbox Microsoft Store and Steam Games fail to offer adequate discounts to offset these high costs, generally settling for cuts between 80 - 95%. The current pricing culture does not respect consumers who, like myself, are looking for value and affordability while engaging in their favorite games.
But it doesn't end there. The price at checkout balloons with sales tax, furthering the sting of these already elevated costs. It's a slap in the face, often adding several dollars to an already pricey purchase.
I strongly believe that gaming should be an inclusive hobby, accessible to everyone regardless of their economic background. High prices shouldn't be the toll gate keeping avid gamers from their passion.
This petition calls on the major game studios and platform sellers mentioned above, to rethink their pricing strategies and consider the financial circumstances of their user base. It is urging them to commit to fairness and transparency in their pricing, and to stop monetary practices that we perceive as nothing more than unfiltered greed.
Your signature can help send a strong message to these corporations that gamers are more than just wallets to be squeezed. We deserve better. Please, sign the petition today.
