Demand Fair Pay for Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

Demand Fair Pay for Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
The Issue
Setting the standard for all national teams, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) have long played an integral role in the popularity and marketing of football. Despite their athleticism, dedication, and importance to the NFL, their pay does not reflect their value. Each cheerleader invests countless hours into physically grueling practices, all while maintaining impeccable appearances. The hidden costs of hair, nails, and makeup along with unpaid overtime and potential medical bills later in life leave many earning little to nothing. The current system exploits women's passion and dreams, which is unequivocally unethical. No person, regardless of their role, should experience exploitation for pursuing their passion.
Fair pay would not only promote equity within the Dallas Cowboys - it would spark much-needed change across the NFL and dance industries. By addressing this issue, we can pave the way for respectful treatment and remuneration for performers throughout these industries.
In 2019, the Cowboys faced a lawsuit from the cheerleaders where their pay was increased from $8 per hour to $12 per hour, and from $200 per game to $400 per game. In total, cheerleaders make around $20,000 in hourly pay per year. Having to sue for this amount shows that very little will change within the Cowboys organization without public influence. We demand that the cheerleaders are put on salaried pay equitable to their true value to the multi-billion dollar Cowboys organization.
It's time to respect the role of DCC and all cheerleaders by paying them as salaried employees in line with their male counterparts. Let's put an end to these unjust practices and demand fair, salaried pay for our Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Please sign and share this petition to support our fight for fairness.
