When the community called out for someone to step up and take action, to bring the voices of so many to the forefront, I couldn't have imagined the overwhelming response we’d receive. But here we are, almost at 500 signatures, and I just want to say, thank you. Your support has been nothing short of inspiring. We're nearly there, but there's just one final push we need to make before I bring this to Council in the coming days.

Here's what you can do to help keep the momentum going:

1. Share the petition on Facebook
This is our moment, and time is of the essence. Council is sitting this week, and we need to maximize the number of signatures. Every share, every voice counts.

2. Write to the media
We need more coverage on this issue. Reach out to the Geelong Advertiser at journo@geelongadvertiser.com.au and the Geelong Independent at editorial@geelongindependent.com.au. Let them know this petition matters.

3. Contact Council
Take a moment to write to your Council about getting a review of your rates. Your voice matters in shaping these decisions.

4. Follow my campaign

5. Make your vote count
Remember, last election many councillors—like Ron Nelson, representing Highton, Belmont, and Wandana Heights—promised lower rates. But what did we see instead? This year, we’re facing over a 4% increase in household rates, far exceeding the recommended cap of 2.75% and inflation sitting around 3.5%. Meanwhile, property values have fallen. Now is the time to hold them accountable. Let’s vote for change!
