Demand Facebook to Allow Users to Opt-Out of Receiving 'Haha' Reactions

The Issue

As a regular user of Facebook, I often find myself feeling embarrassed when I receive 'haha' reactions after writing serious posts. This experience is not unique to me; many users have expressed discomfort and frustration over this issue. The 'haha' reaction, intended for humor, can be misused and lead to feelings of mockery or belittlement.

Facebook boasts 2.8 billion monthly active users as of the fourth quarter of 2020 (Statista). With such a large user base, it's crucial that the platform ensures its features are respectful and considerate towards all its users. Currently, there is no option for individual users to control which reactions they receive on their posts.

We are calling on Facebook to implement a feature that allows individual users the option not to receive certain types of reactions - specifically the 'haha' reaction - on their posts. This change would give more control back into the hands of the user and promote an environment where everyone feels respected and heard.

Please sign this petition if you believe in creating a more empathetic social media space where individuals have greater control over their interactions.
