My husband, like many other fathers, has 50% custody of his children. Despite this shared responsibility, he is consistently overlooked by institutions that play significant roles in their lives. Schools, hospitals and doctors only notify their mother about important updates or emergencies. This is not just an isolated incident but a systemic issue affecting countless fathers who are equally invested in the welfare of their children.

According to a report by the U.S Census Bureau (2013), more than 80% of custodial parents are mothers. This overwhelming bias often leaves fathers out of crucial decisions and updates about their child's life despite having legal joint custody rights.

This petition aims to challenge this status quo and demand equal treatment for fathers from all institutions involved in child care and education. We believe that both parents should be equally informed and involved when it comes to matters concerning their children.
