I am a final year student at the University of South Africa (UNISA), having studied here from 2020 like many other students, I have just 4 modules left to complete my degree. However, the recent university regulations prevent us from registering for three teaching practicals in our final year, unjustly this restriction does not apply to all students, with some being given the opportunity to register for three practicals this year. Even last year final year students were able to register for three teaching practicals. This variance in such a critical aspect robs us of the chance to graduate on time, forces us to spend another year at university for just one module and delays our entry into the job market. We are simply asking for equal academic opportunities as our peers, providing us the chance to finish, graduate and commence our job quests. This request is not only fair but is also aligned with the university’s commitment to equality and integrity. Please sign this petition to demand UNISA to allow all final year students to register for three teaching practicals. Together,  we can endorse a fair and equal academic path for all students.
