The Issue

I have been fighting a deeply personal battle, embroiled in the throes of an agonizing journey. It's not just my journey; it is a story many others share, marred by the hurt and unfairness of gett abuse. Today, I am urging you to stand by me in my quest for justice, not just for myself, but for countless others who find themselves trapped in a similar plight.

In Judaism, a 'gett' is a religious document needed for a divorce to be recognized in the Jewish community. Without it, the marital bond remains officially intact, leaving the spouse—often the wife—anchored in a relationship she cannot exit. This is where Daniel Dabakarov comes into play. He continues to withhold the gett, living with another woman and moving on while I remain bound in uncertainty and limbo. The Beit Din has issued a Seiruv against Daniel for failing to appear before them.  A fundraiser has also been created by family members to help fight this battle.

This injustice is far-reaching, affecting numerous people across communities who are denied the right to move on and rebuild their lives. Such abuse of power not only undermines the sacred institutions of marriage and family but tarnishes the foundations of justice and fairness that should be their bedrock.

What is especially disheartening is the lack of decisive action to enforce existing religious laws that obligate the granting of a gett. The Beit Din, a religious court, is empowered to intervene and urge compliance, but inaction persists, and people suffer in silence.

By signing this petition, you help demand accountability and intervention to compel Daniel Dabakarov and other gett refusers to grant the gett. Your signature is more than ink on paper; it's a stand against oppression and a vocal assertion of our collective demand for justice. If enough people raise their voices, we can push for meaningful action and change.

Please, lend your support and join me in urging Daniel Dabakarov to surrender to the Beit Dein and stop the cycle of gett abuse. Sign this petition today and become part of this much-needed change.
