The City of Henderson, Nevada, prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming community. Yet, it has continued a relationship with the ICME Foundation - Henderson Pride Festival and its organizer, Efrain G Cortez, also known as Anthony, who has allegedly engaged in unethical and harmful behavior.

I am personally connected to this cause, having witnessed the distress and harm caused to previous dancers and workers who have been associated with the Henderson Pride Festival. Having committed themselves to promoting inclusivity and joy, these individuals have faced unfounded allegations and have been accused falsely of defamation after deciding to leave their roles. The same organizer has allegedly engaged in verbally and emotionally abusive conduct.

The reputation of our city should not be tarnished by association with individuals who exploit others while failing to uphold the values they purport to celebrate. The City of Henderson must take immediate action to demonstrate that it does not condone such behavior. We call on city officials to re-evaluate and ultimately sever ties with the Henderson Pride Festival and Efrain G Cortez, ensuring the festival aligns with the authentic spirit and principles of pride.

By making this demand, we aim to protect the integrity of our community events and ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere for all participants and workers. We believe that in doing so, future events can truly celebrate diversity without being overshadowed by the actions of individuals who fail to uphold our community values.
