Our fight is a personal one. It is born out of a staunch belief that we, the consumers, level a great mistrust against Fluoride and other chemicals in our water supply. Under the pretense of water purification, these perceived toxins are allowed into the otherwise sanctity of the human body. It is a standing allegation that the FDA has given its approval not due to these chemicals being indisputably safe for human consumption, but rather as a result of aggressive lobbying efforts. We cannot stand by while our health, and indeed, our lives, are subject to the interests of powerful corporations. The use of non-harmful materials for purifying our water is not just a feasible alternative that Citrus County must consider, it is a fundamental basic right to those who drink from its taps.

Chemical-free water should not be a privilege but a standard that is to be upheld with vigor. Around 97.5% of Western Europe has rejected, banned, or stopped fluoridation due to environmental, health, legal, or ethical concerns (source: Fluoride Action Network). Why should it be any different in Citrus County? We urge all residents to join this fight.
