It appears the board has finally started their “investigation”. It’s being completed by the college’s attorney, so no conflict of interest there. However, instead of speaking to the folks who voiced concerns and risked so much by speaking at the board meetings, they’ve opted to do a “climate survey”.

We are all familiar with these sorts of things.  Ranking statements (1-5) like “my management team treats me well”. Who is my management team? Why are the questions not pointed directly at the individual everyone seems to have a problem with - Jon Connolly. This survey is a cover for bad behavior. After all, managers generally at as buffers for the toxicity that stems from the top. We should have expected nothing more. But wait, many of us didn’t even get the survey. Maybe as an adjunct, my opinion doesn’t matter or maybe this is a joke. It’s all so absurd.

In tandem with this survey, apparently 15 employees were selected to be interviewed. Who selected these folks?  Do they include Connolly’s enablers?  And we hear that many are afraid to speak because of fear of repercussions. Guess transparency isn’t part of the process.

Finally it must be noted that at least five employees have written letters to the board of directors and from what we hear NONE of them have received a response.  At least 16 folks spoke at the board meetings and NONE of them have received any follows up to their remarks (remember they had to provide their name for the minutes). Many of these folks brought up issues that deserve to be part of the investigation, but NONE have been contacted. Timing matters and it’s been almost three months since the first letter was received.

So clearly the board is doing nothing to fully investigate and the County Commissioners don’t seem to care.

Just remember, Jon Connolly, what goes around comes around.  You might have gotten away with it this time, but eventually things will catch up to you.
