More disappointing news from the “What’s Happening at SCCC” Facebook page.

“We are being made aware that Dr. Connelly is making offers to certain staff members in exchange for loyalty. 

Reports are coming in that certain faculty and staff that are either eligible for retirement or coming within range of retirement are being offered a 100,000 dollar “buyout” that will be paid over the course of ten years. These faculty/staff would need to retire as soon as possible in exchange for this deal.

This deal just so happened to coincide with the “cultural assessment” timeline that was rolled out by the board of trustees when the horrible instances of retaliation and harassment at the hands of Dr. Connelly was brought to light, along with the 20+ million dollar investment fund at Morgan Stanley bank. 

These actions are not only startling but infuriating. The taxpayers of this county and the students and faculty need your support now more then ever!”

Oh, and it’s time to add the County Commissioners to the decision-maker page of this petition. The board of the college has failed to investigate, so now only the County Commissioners can hold them responsible.  “…the commissioners appoint members of the college’s board of trustees and approve its budget each year” - Jill Space, Director of County Commissioners. 

After two months since these allegations arose and STILL NO INVESTIGATION, it appears it’s time to start replacing folks on the college’s board. The onus is now on Jill space and her colleagues.
