Demand Ceasefire! No More Meetings with Putin Until the Bombing Stops
The Issue
NYT: Russian Attacks Kill 10 in Ukraine, Hours Before Zelensky Visits White House...
Right now, Vladimir Putin is still bombing Ukrainian cities — and yet the U.S. president just welcomed him to Alaska with a red carpet, a private ride in the presidential limo, and hours of closed-door talks.
No ceasefire. No peace deal. And no consequences.
Enough is enough.
President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have said they’re working toward a peace deal — but how can there be peace talks while Russia is actively launching airstrikes on Ukrainian civilians? This isn’t diplomacy. It’s legitimizing war crimes.
Every meeting with Putin that goes forward without a ceasefire gives Russia time to stall, regroup, and keep attacking. It sends a message that the U.S. is willing to talk peace while ignoring continued violence. That’s not leadership — that’s complicity.
Secretary Rubio admitted that Russia has refused to agree to a ceasefire. He also said the U.S. won’t consider new sanctions right now, because “there’s no one left in the world to go talk to the Russians.” But what’s the point of talking if there are no red lines?
President Trump has now met with Putin multiple times without even demanding a pause in the killing. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy has made clear: a ceasefire is the only way real negotiations can happen.
We are calling on President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and all U.S. officials involved in negotiations: stop meeting with Vladimir Putin until Russia halts its attacks on Ukraine. No more summits. No more photo-ops. No more rewards for violence.
A ceasefire must be the bare minimum requirement for any future diplomatic talks.
Sign this petition if you believe the U.S. should stand for peace — and not sit down with a regime that’s still dropping bombs.
