The Issue

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a man who fled El Salvador as a child, found refuge in the United States, where he was granted legal protection. He built a family, worked a union job, and established a life here.

Now, he finds himself imprisoned in the same country he fled from years ago due to an "administrative error" by ICE. Deported without due process, he is forcefully separated from his five-year-old disabled son and U.S. citizen wife. Despite his clean legal record, the U.S. government plans to do nothing to bring him home.

This case is not isolated. Many have been disappeared and deported to El Salvador without due process in the same way. This blatant disregard for human rights and legal proceedings amounts to a humanitarian crisis. We can't stand idle when the U.S. deports people without due process, acknowledging it as a mere "administrative error" without taking responsibility for grave mistakes.

We therefore call on Congress to send a bipartisan delegation to El Salvador to negotiate the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia and all others who, like him, were unjustly removed. Let's stand together for justice, for due process, and for the respect of each person's inherent human rights. Sign our petition to demand action.
