Demand Better Air Quality Laws For First Nations In Ontario

The Issue

In specific places in Canada, the air could have toxic chemicals. For example, in Aamjiwnaang First Nation near Sarnia, Ontario, their air gets spikes of benzene. A chemical which is linked to leukemia. Schools there don't let the kids go out for recess, afraid of them contracting cancer. This is happening because companies have been systematically placing toxic waste, landfills, and heavy pollution next to Indigenous, black, or lower income neighborhoods while wealthy areas stay completely clean.  Canada has finally passed a law to start studying this issue but studying doesn't fix the issue. I think we need strict fines to shut these polluters down permanently.
