Massive increase in signatories today!

Thank you to everyone who has signed today and the people that signposted the petition to them. We're making huge progress every day to create real change!

So far there's been a detailed investigative article published, a response to parents from the school, and this petition supported by all of you fantastic people!

It seems that word is spreading about the asbestos crisis at Ripley. In a LinkedIn post, experienced lawyer Ryan O'Hara, who specialises in industrial disease, highlights that over 80% of school buildings in the UK contain asbestos. He goes on to summarise his views on the issue as follows:

Some things to remember about managing asbestos in buildings: 1. Independent clearance testing is essential. 2. Listen to frontline staff. They are usually the first to spot operational failures. 3. Bypassing your own protocols is an own goal which invites risk. Anyone exposed to asbestos dust and fibre is at risk of developing asbestos cancer, mesothelioma, so managing asbestos safely is paramount.
