The ongoing aggression and bombardment in the Gaza Strip have resulted in countless casualties and widespread destruction. According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, as of November 2023, over 10,000 people have been martyred, including at least 4,000 children. 1.5 million are displaced and living under dire conditions.

We, the undersigned, urgently implore the World Health Organization, esteemed world leaders and influential decision-makers to heed the pressing call for action in the ongoing war on Gaza. The situation demands immediate intervention, and we propose the following crucial steps:

1. Immediate Ceasefire Declaration: We call for an immediate ceasefire. This cessation of hostilities is imperative to safeguard the lives of innocent civilians. 

2. International Protection of Healthcare Infrastructure and Personnel: We beseech the WHO to take decisive measures to ensure the safety and integrity of hospitals, healthcare centres and facilities in Gaza. 

3. Facilitate Unimpeded Access to Medical Supplies and Aid: Immediate and unhindered access to medical supplies, equipment and humanitarian aid is indispensable. The blockade on essential resources severely hampers the provision of critical care to those in need. We call for the expedition of delivery of these vital resources to Gaza, ensuring that medical facilities have the necessary tools to save lives.

4. Facilitate Humanitarian Corridors and Evacuations: We implore the WHO to work collectively to establish safe humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of injured civilians, including the elderly, children and individuals with medical conditions. These corridors are essential for the immediate protection of vulnerable populations.
