Demand an explanation for the unjust removal of our beloved Deputy Head teacher
The Issue
A gross injustice has occurred in the heart of our community in Stepney, Tower Hamlets. A highly respected Deputy Headteacher, who has dedicated over two decades of his life to nurturing the minds of future generations, has been unjustly removed from his position. This inexplicable action has not only affected this dedicated educational practitioner and his family, but has also disrupted the wellbeing of our community, as we have not been informed of his whereabouts since October 2024. When parents have enquired with the School, we have been told he is away on training. His photograph has been removed from the staff noticeboard at the School Reception, yet he is still named on the School website as the Deputy Head teacher. Staff report his office has been emptied and a Deputy Head teacher from another Tower Hamlets School now resides there. This misinformation creates a cloud of doubt and suspicion and compromises the integrity of the School’s Leadership Team and its governing body. It is now January 2025 and we have no idea where our treasured Deputy Head teacher is and his absence is hindering the progress of countless students who would have continued to benefit from his services.
The School has had two new Head teachers within the space of the last four years, the most recent of which had only been in post a mere few weeks before our admired and valued Deputy Head teacher disappeared without any explanation. He has been the only anchor within the School at times of great turbulence. We can only conclude that there has been a serious abuse of power without considering the sensitivities of the children, parents, staff and wider community. This abhorrent action undermines the very essence of our education system and trust in the Local Authority.
We are therefore calling upon the governing body of the School and the Local Education Authority to reconsider its ill-judged decision, and reinstate our devoted Deputy Headteacher. We urge them to look at the deeper issues affecting the school, its staff and the local community for the betterment of the entire community and the future generations to which it caters.
Sign this petition to support us in holding the School governing body and Local Education Authority to account, demanding an explanation and reversing this unjust action.
