I am a resident of Győr, Hungary, and I have embarked on a project that is deeply personal to me. This project has opened my eyes to the devastating impacts of fast fashion on our environment and society. Fast fashion contributes to 10% of all humanity's carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams (source: United Nations Environment Programme). It's also responsible for producing 20% of global wastewater (source: World Bank).

In our city, we've seen the effects first-hand. Our local water bodies are being polluted with microplastics from synthetic clothing fibers. Our landfills are overflowing with discarded clothes that take hundreds of years to decompose.

We must act now! We need stricter regulations on fast fashion companies operating in Hungary. We need policies that encourage sustainable practices like recycling and using organic materials.
