Demand Administrative Separation for Cause and Accountability in District Leadership

Demand Administrative Separation for Cause and Accountability in District Leadership
The Issue
We, the undersigned parents, educators, taxpayers, and community members, are calling on the Board of Trustees to take decisive, lawful, and ethical action to uphold accountability in district leadership.
This petition formally requests that the Board of trustee initiate administrative separation for cause, including appropriate sanctions and without severance pay, retirement incentives, or continued compensation. This request is made in the best interest of students, staff, and the taxpayers who fund the district.
Public school leadership carries a fiduciary responsibility to manage resources responsibly, act transparently, and place student outcomes above individual convenience. When leadership failures persist despite warnings, oversight, and opportunities for correction, accountability is not optional it is required.
Over the past several years, the district has experienced ongoing governance, financial, and leadership concerns that have been publicly discussed in board meetings, oversight reports, and community forums. Despite repeated opportunities for corrective action, these issues have persisted, contributing to declining public trust and concern for long-term stability. This petition reflects a growing call from the community for accountability at the leadership level and a commitment to responsible governance.
Allowing a voluntary retirement, paid resignation, or negotiated exit shifts the consequences of mismanagement onto students and taxpayers while avoiding responsibility. Such outcomes undermine public trust and set a harmful precedent for future governance.
This petition is not personal. It is about enforcing contracts, honoring fiduciary duty, and restoring confidence in district leadership. Accountability must be meaningful, not symbolic.
We respectfully ask the Board of Trustees to: Initiate administrative separation for cause under applicable contracts and policies
• Impose appropriate sanctions consistent with district standards and state law
• Deny any severance, retirement incentives, or continued compensation
• Act transparently and in the best interest of students, staff, and taxpayers
True accountability requires action, not optics. The district cannot move forward without first addressing responsibility for past decisions and outcomes.
By signing this petition, community members affirm their expectation that leadership be held to the same standards of responsibility and consequence that are expected of students, educators, and taxpayers.
Accountability should not come with a payout. This petition calls for administrative separation for cause without severance to protect students, taxpayers, and public trust.
