Demand Accountability in WA Civil Rights Cases

The Issue

For over two years, I have experienced a coordinated effort by government-funded organizations in Washington State and Benton-Franklin County, to silence and punish me for advocating for my rights. Despite my best efforts, I have been consistently turned away or ignored by organizations that are supposed to protect civil rights, including legal aid, a civil rights commission, and both federal and state government agencies. Not a single person has taken the time to review the evidence I possess. This is not a series of unfortunate coincidences; it is a clear pattern of systemic failure that has deeply impacted my life and my faith in justice.

In Washington State, cases involving government entities are currently handled by the State Human Rights Commission. However, this approach has proven insufficient for genuinely holding these entities accountable. It is time for drastic changes to ensure fair investigation and resolution of civil rights complaints. There should be independent oversight with outside investigators handling such sensitive cases involving government entities. This change would help to eliminate potential biases and conflicts of interest inherent in the current system.

Moreover, we should demand greater transparency from civil rights organizations. Complainants should be given the option to have the details of their rejected requests for assistance placed into public records. This level of transparency would not only hold these organizations accountable but also highlight systemic issues and patterns of discrimination. It would bring light to the unspoken and often unseen struggles of the marginalized, providing a record for further advocacy.

The time to act is now. We need comprehensive oversight and accountability measures in place for civil rights legal organizations throughout Washington State. Together, we can strive for a more equitable and just society. I urge you to sign this petition, not just for me, but for every individual who has been let down by the systems sworn to protect them. Solidarity leads to real change. Please sign and share this petition to demand accountability and justice.
