Demand Accountability from Carolina Panthers Owner David Tepper
The Issue
As a lifelong native of Carolina and a devoted fan since day one, I am deeply invested in the Carolina Panthers. This personal connection compels me to share my concerns about our team's trajectory under current owner, David Tepper. Many fellow Panther fans and myself feel our team is suffering due to several key issues: Tepper's over-involvement in football decisions, frequent coaching changes leading to instability within the team, the failure of the Rock Hill headquarters project, and sadly, the team's consistent poor on-field performance. It is clear to us that Tepper's management style has potentially hindered our team's success and damaged fan trust and engagement with the franchise.
The series of coaches' dismissals during Tepper's tenure have left our team in a constant state of flux. Continuity is essential in any successful football organization, a point underscored by successful franchises like the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have only had three coaches since 1969. Astonishingly, under Tepper's ownership, Panther fans have weathered four coaching changes since 2018. Such turnover is detrimental to team stability.
The Rock Hill headquarters project, touted as a catalyst for economic growth in the area, has ground to a halt. This ill-fated venture has done more harm than good, straining relations with the local community and the Panthers' fan base.
Our team's performance has reached worrying lows, with our last season seeing us finish with our worst record since 2010. This decline is symptomatic of the myriad issues under Tepper's reign.
Our plea is simple - we demand accountability from David Tepper. We call on him to reassess his management practices, listen to the concerns of the fan base, and act with greater consideration and strategy for the welfare of our team. This is not just about football; it's about community, tradition and devotion. We urge all Carolina Panthers fans and supporters of transparent and ethical sports management to sign this petition.
