The Issue

I am a resident of Tipton, UK, and I have personally experienced the rudeness and lack of empathy from medical receptionists in our local healthcare facility Swanpool Medical Centre. This is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue that has been ignored for far too long. We, as patients and vulnerable individuals seeking medical help, deserve better.

Medical receptionists are often the first point of contact in healthcare settings. Their behavior can significantly affect patient experience and overall satisfaction with care received. A study published by the British Medical Journal found that positive interactions with administrative staff contribute to patient satisfaction (BMJ Open, 2018). Yet, we face dismissive attitudes and unkind words when we are at our most vulnerable.

This petition calls on local health authorities in Tipton to implement stricter regulations holding medical receptionists accountable for their conduct towards patients. We demand mandatory empathy training programs to ensure all staff understand the importance of treating patients with kindness and respect.
