As a recipient of federal support and a friend to immigrants and minorities in this country, I fear the direction our country is taking. The policies being shaped in the White House could potentially lead to my family and I losing our home and source of sustenance. At a broader level, any action threatening the safety or livelihood of any non-violent immigrant is distressingly within reach. A child's right to education should not be compromised for fear of deportation. This is not the America we know and love.

The toll of these political actions is not only personal, affecting individuals and families, but it serves to dehumanize American citizens at a wider scale. Breaches of integrity at such high levels of governance are cause for concern. Unchecked wrongdoings mar the very fabric of a democratic society, one that we have built on the principles of equality, justice, and freedom.

Efforts to rewrite the Constitution and usurp rights and freedoms of Americans are unacceptable.

Our legislature, despite the known divide between Democrats and Republicans, must find a common ground to hold these political actors accountable for their actions. The safeguarding of lawful conduct in the White House is a bipartisan concern, and rightfully so. This overreach is unlawful, unconstitutional, and needs to halt before it further erodes the power of our legislative body and completely undermines the voices of the American people as a collective. 

With these pressing concerns in mind, we call forth a collective stand. Use your voice and your vote.

We need all bodies of government to come to a unilateral decision that the oath they've sworn to the Constitution is sacred, one they must abide by, and therefore, must work on a bipartisan solution to protect it at all costs, and hold those to account; whomever tries to abuse their power by bypassing Congressional due process, or those who attempt to obstruct justice or bypass the rule of law, as no one is above the law. Our Representatives, senators, and justices, therefore, must work together civilly to adhere to and abide by the Constitution. Our American way of life, the American people, our nation's rich history, our children, the future of our children and the future of this great nation depend on it. We cannot afford to ignore what is written in our Constitution, for this puts millions of Americans lives in imminent danger, for we are a government "of the People, for the People, and by the People."
