The Issue

How is it possible that our city, in the midst of an economic boom, is choosing to increase parking garages instead of investing in public transit? It feels like a missed opportunity to build a sustainable future. Instead of planning for nine more parking levels on top of the existing five, we should be deciding on better public transit options that truly serve our community and the environment.

It's baffling how decisions like these seem to prioritize cars over citizens. Public transit not only reduces traffic congestion but also supports those who rely on it every day. It's about making our city more accessible, reducing our carbon footprint, and planning intelligently for long-term growth. With non-human developers pushing for more parking, where’s the foresight for a greener city?

We need to rethink our priorities. Investing in public transit has been proven to boost local economies, create jobs, and improve quality of life. However, when funds and efforts are redirected toward parking structures, we deny ourselves the benefits of an efficient and expansive transit network.

Let’s push for environmentally friendly urban planning and show our city leaders that our future depends on smart transportation solutions. We cannot allow short-sighted infrastructure to undermine progress. By investing in public transit, we not only address today’s congestion but also safeguard tomorrow’s environment.

Sign this petition to demand that our city invest in public transit. Let’s make sure our growth supports sustainability, accessibility, and a healthier future for everyone.
