The Phlebotomist Council of Australia (PCA) has officially submitted our case to the Fair Work Commission as part of the Gender Undervaluation Review, highlighting the historical undervaluation of Phlebotomists. This submission represents the culmination of over four years of evidence collection and four months of meticulous preparation. It includes witness statements from Phlebotomists and an expert witness statement from our Learning and Development Educator, Danny Simms.

In total, we filed an extensive 296-page document with the Fair Work Commission on Friday. It is important to note that we submitted a revised version of the Pathology Statement of Facts, which differs from what was previously shared with our members. This change was made in collaboration with the Australian Council of Trade Union (ACTU), ensuring that the Pathology Statement of Facts is a joint document representing both PCA and ACTU. This support from the Peak Body of the Trade Unions reinforces PCA's position as the true representative for Pathology Workers, particularly in contrast to the Trade Unions, United Workers Union (UWU) and Health Services Union (HSU), who are focusing on Disability Support Workers and Early Childhood Educators in this review.

On a less positive note, Australian Pathology, the representatives of Private Pathology Companies on Australia have also submitted a statement claiming they cannot afford wage increases without additional government funding. Yet their strong figures on the ASX show us differently. We also have seen support from the Public Sector Employers for a Wage growth for their employees, so this has left us wondering how much more Private Sector CEO's must be getting paid!

We need the support of the Australian's who rely on Outpatient Pathology Services to continue our fight for Fair Wages for these Undervalued workers before they all leave the sector due to financial hardship!

Every little contribution makes a difference. If each person reading this were to donate the cost of their morning coffee, it would cover an entire day of our Legal Counsel's efforts in advocating against our opposition, who have millions to spend on contesting our fight for justice.
