THE EU stunned the world when they decided to vote against the export of elephants out of Africa to stock popular destinations such as Zoos in the USA, Asa and the UAE. This historic vote took place at CITES CoP18 in Geneva. 

The EU needs to shut down the domestic ivory trade completely following the footsteps of the USA, China, the UK and Hong Kong to name a few. 

It is time to correct the mistakes of the past. The world has lost many species we cannot afford to be arguing about the killing of elephant for their ivory or trophy hunting.
